“The Congress is repeatedly insulting the people of the country. Sam Pitroda has made statements dividing the country on the basis of the colour of people. The party has come up with a new policy of divisiveness. We condemn such statements and will not allow the malice intention of Congress leaders to be fulfilled. The Congress leaders should not divide Akhand Bharat,” Paatil said addressing a press conference in Surat.

Paatil’s reaction comes a day after Pitroda triggered a controversy with his remark that “people in the East look like the Chinese, people in the West look like the Arabs, people in the North look like, maybe, White, and people in the South look like Africans”.

“Pitroda’s statements have damaged the election process and hurt people’s sentiments. The people of the country have now come to know their intention of divide and rule,” Paatil said, adding that Congress leaders have a tendency to insult people, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In the aftermath of a low voter turnout in the Lok Sabha polling held in Gujarat on Tuesday, Paatil also held a meeting with BJP leaders in Gandhinagar on Thursday.
