Fresh from a 1-0 Women's Super League victory against Liverpool's local rivals Everton, United are looking to make it three wins on the bounce in all competitions.

The Toffees are also in Group A of the competition, along with newly promoted Championship side Newcastle United.

Wednesday's coverage, live on MUTV, will begin at 18:30 BST, half an hour before kick-off. We will be posting team news at approximately 18:00 BST in our app, as well as half-time and full-time updates during the action. A match report will also be published on our official channels.

Tickets are also available for those who can make it to LSV - purchase yours now.

TEAM NEWS

Hannah Blundell is unavailable for the whole of the campaign as she takes time away from the pitch to have her first child. Evie Rabjohn is also out, as she recovers from a ruptured anterior-cruciate ligament suffered in July.

Emma Watson, who has also been a long-term absentee, has been back in training but is yet to be involved in our squad for the two opening fixtures. Marc Skinner may provide an update on the midfielder in his pre-match press conference this week.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Liverpool boss Matt Beard, after the Merseysiders drew 1-1 at West Ham United on Sunday.

THE OPPOSITION

Wednesday's visitors have drawn 1-1 in each of their first two fixtures in 2024/25, against Leicester City and West Ham, respectively.

They finished above United in the WSL last season, however, defeating Marc Skinner's side 1-0 in May most recently.

Liverpool also beat us at LSV, winning 2-1 in a frantic WSL affair, and United will surely be keen to set the record straight this time round.

We travelled to Prenton Park in the League Cup and emerged 1-0 victors, which will give Skinner's team confidence we can emulate that this week.

WHO ELSE IS PLAYING?

Our fixture is one of 10 being played across Wednesday and Thursday.

WEDNESDAY 2 OCTOBER Birmingham City v Brighton Leicester City v Bristol City Newcastle v Everton West Ham v Portsmouth UNITED v Liverpool Blackburn Rovers v Durham Charlton Athletic v Tottenham (19:15 BST) Aston Villa v Crystal Palace (19:15 BST)

THURSDAY 3 OCTOBER Southampton v London City Lionesses Sheffield United v Sunderland

All games 19:00 BST unless stated.
