Washington Road to close between Faculty Road and Route 1 ...

The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) has advised that from 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 11, to noon Friday, October 18, 2024, the Washington Road bridge over the D&R Canal between Faculty Road and Route 1 will be closed as contractors complete remedial work.
Detour routes will be posted. Motorists traveling to/from Route 1 to Princeton should use Harrison Street and Alexander Road as alternate routes. Vehicular access to the Meadows Neighborhood from Route One will remain open.
Tiger Transit will continue to service the Meadows Neighborhood with modified routes. Details and updates will be posted to the Transportation and Parking Services website.
The sidewalk from Faculty Road to Meadows Neighborhood on the north side of the bridge will remain open for pedestrians and bicycles. The D&R Canal Towpath will remain open at most times but will be closed intermittently as the phased construction work proceeds.
