TEMPO.CO, Boyolali - The Indonesian national football team will face off against the Philippines at the Manahan Stadium in Solo, Central Java, for the final Group B match in the 2024 AFF Cup on Saturday, December 21, 2024.The Garuda team arrived in Solo City this morning and landed at around 10:10 a.m. local time at Adi Soemarmo Airport. The players and their South Korean coach, Shin Tae-yong, flew on Garuda Indonesia Airlines flight number GA222 from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
The players, including Rafael Struick, Pratama Arhan, Marcelino Ferdinand, Hoky Caraka, Asnawi Mangkualam, and Muhammad Ferrari, immediately entered a bus upon arrival at the airport.
The Indonesia national team midfielder, Rivaldo Pakpahan, was seen walking with crutches. The Borneo FC player was injured in the match against Vietnam on Sunday, December 15.
No interviews were conducted with the Indonesian national team members when the media covered their arrival at Adi Soemarmo Airport. They immediately rushed to continue their journey towards Hotel Alila Solo.
The Indonesian national team will play one last match in the Group B qualification of the 2024 AFF Cup against the Philippines at Manahan Stadium, Solo, at 8:00 p.m. local time. The result of that match will determine whether the Garuda squad can advance to the semifinals.
Currently, Indonesia ranks second in Group B standings with four points from three matches, two points behind Vietnam, which has collected six points from two matches. The Philippines, with two points from two matches, is in third place and could threaten the Garuda squad's chances of advancing to the final four.
Before facing the Garuda squad, the Philippines will host Vietnam in their third match at Rizal Memorial Stadium, Manila, tonight, Wednesday, December 18. If they win over Vietnam, the Philippines will rise to second place, overtaking the Indonesian national team in Group B standings of the 2024 AFF Cup.
