Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar turned 52 on Monday.

Birthday wishes and messages have been pouring in for the 'Thala' of the Tamil film industry.

Tamil actor Gautham Karthik, who made his acting debut in 2013 with director Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal', took to Twitter to post a sweet birthday message for the 52-year-old.

He thanked him for inspiring his fans to live by their own rules, and captioned his post, "Wishing a very happy birthday to the one and only Ajith Kumar, sir! Thank you for always inspiring us to live by our own rules and terms! Have a great one sir!"

Recently, Ajith was spotted exploring Nepal on his bike trip. From gorging on meals in a local eatery to making food in a restaurant, he did it all during his Nepal trip. Several videos and pictures from his bike trip had been doing the rounds on social media.

According to a fan club on Twitter, Ajith - dressed as a biker - could be seen enjoying a wholesome meal at a local eatery in Nepal. Another video showed Ajith channelling his inner chef and preparing a dish at a restaurant, along with the restaurant staff, in the neighbouring country. He was seen wearing an apron and a chef's hat.

Ajith Kumar was last seen in 'Thunivu', released in January this year, which was a blockbuster with a collection of more than Rs 200 crore (gross) at the worldwide box-office.

the action heist film also featured Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Veera in key roles.

On the work front, Ajith is prepping for his upcoming film, tentatively titled 'AK 62'. According to reports, the movie will go on floors in June. It is said to be directed by Magizh Thirumeni, and Arun Vijay may be Ajith's co-star in the film.

Ajith Kumar is also working on his world tour documentary with cinematographer Nirav Shah. It is believed that the documentary will give a glance into Ajith's life.
