Ronaldo makes De Bruyne 'plea'

Cristiano Ronaldo has made a “personal plea” to Al Nassr to bring Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne to the Saudi Arabian club.

De Bruyne - who is out of contract in the summer of 2025 - has been linked with a move away from Manchester after nine trophy-laden seasons with The Citizens.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has told Al-Nassr chiefs to make Kevin De Bruyne an offer he cannot refuse,” writes The Sun.

“Ronaldo is a huge fan of Manchester City hero KDB, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.

“And the former United superstar has made a personal plea to his bosses to try and tempt De Bruyne, 33, to join him in Saudi Arabia.

“Icon Ronaldo wants them to go all out for the Belgian midfielder - stressing what a coup his capture would be for the Saudi league.

“De Bruyne’s representatives were discreetly sounded out last year.

“The playmaker is perfectly happy in Manchester and has never pushed to jump on the mega-money bandwagon.

“Yet the City star also admitted the incredible figures being mentioned could make it very difficult to turn down an official approach.

“De Bruyne is currently out injured but relaxed Etihad bosses plan to sit down to discuss his future when the timing is right.

“Yet they are aware there is no chance of coming close to the incredible £1 million-a-week - plus £50 million signing-on fee - Al-Nassr are reportedly happy to pay him.”

Carvajal injury complicates Real's TAA move

An injury sustained by Dani Carvajal could make Real Madrid reconsider their interest in Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, claims the Mirror.

Alexander-Arnold's contract at The Reds expires in the summer with Los Blancos tipped to be his next destination.

However, an eight-month layoff for Carvajal may alter Real's thinking.

"Real Madrid could be forced to rethink their pursuit of Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold after Dani Carvajal picked up a serious injury," states the outlet.

"Alexander-Arnold is out of contract at the end of the season and Madrid have been heavily linked with a move for the England international. They will be able to negotiate with Alexander-Arnold in January about signing him for free in the summer, but the deal could be complicated by Carvajal's injury.

"The right-back tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during Madrid's 2-0 win over Villarreal on Saturday and he is set to be out of action for around eight months.

"Madrid have announced that Carvajal's contract has been extended until 2026, but his injury leaves manager Carlo Ancelotti with Lucas Vazquez as his only senior option at right-back. As a result, Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that Madrid are accelerating their search for a new right-back.

"The report notes that Alexander-Arnold 'has been talked about' as a potential January signing, but that depends on whether Liverpool are willing to sell him in order to avoid losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

"The report adds that a decision will be made on the right-back situation 'in the next few days', with youngsters Lorenzo Aguado and David Jimenez additional options at Ancelotti's disposal."

Shock Sunderland return on the cards for Henderson

Championship teams including Sunderland are interested in taking Jordan Henderson on loan from Ajax.

The Sun claims the 34-year-old could make a shock return to his boyhood club in January.

"Jordan Henderson lack of playing time at Ajax is whipping up interest in England," reads the article.

"The former England skipper cannot get regular games in Holland and may be in the market for a return home in January.

"Some Premier League clubs have been alerted but leading Championship sides are also considering a loan deal.

"Hendo, 34, found it hard to come back to England sooner due to potential tax issues following his spell in Saudi Arabia with Al-Ettifaq.

"That may still be an issue for him next year, but the midfield general is hoping there is a way of doing it.

"An emotional return to The Black Cats could be on the cards, with Regis Le Bris' side top of the second tier."
