All Saints' Day is an expression of our gratitude and reverence to all those who lived holy lives, especially the many silent and "unknown" saints, said a Carmelite priest.
The saints, Fr. Ritche Salgado OCarm said in his reflection on the celebration, are strong examples on "how we should face the difficulties and challenges that comes with living out god's will in our lives."
"And also for all the help that we have received from them, fully trusting that they continue to intercede for us with Christ, our only mediator with the Father," he added.
"As St. James would put it in his letter to the faithful in the diaspora, "The fervent prayer of a righteous person is very powerful." (Jmaes 5:16) Who could be more righteous than our saints in heaven?"
