Six of our Gunners were in loan action over the weekend and you can see how they fared in Loan Watch.

Hubert Graczyk kept a clean sheet for Slough Town as they beat Weston-Super-Mare 3-0 away from home.

A first-half hat-trick for George Alexander gave the visitors a comfortable margin, but our 20-year-old goalkeeper was still called upon to protect their lead, preventing an early chance at the near-post and blocking a powerful strike well. 

In the Championship, Charlie Patino was granted his first start for Swansea City after an eye-catching performance off the bench last week against West Brom.

While Coventry City took the lead at the Swansea.com stadium, the Swans equalised almost immediately through Jerry Yates. Neither side was able to break the deadlock before the full-time whistle and the game finished 1-1. 

Reflecting on what Patino can bring to the side, Swansea manager Michael Duff said: “We think he makes us better. He does different things in different positions so it always gives you another option.

"His pedigree speaks for itself with the football club he’s at. Charlie's a young player but he’s played 40-odd games in the Championship which is a tough ask for anybody his age."

Marquinhos made his second appearance for Ligue 1 side Nantes as they were beaten on the road by Lille. Our Brazilian winger was brought on in the 72nd minute but was unable to find a leveller for his side. 

It looked as though Nantes had found a way back into the clash after Lille's Alexsandro was sent off and Stredair Appuah found the target, but the goal was ruled out for offside by VAR. Lille then solidified the result with a second goal, deep into stoppage time. 

Following on his stellar debut for Motherwell last weekend, Mika Biereth was introduced in the 67th minute for Motherwell in their Scottish League Cup tie against St. Mirren.

With Biereth’s side trailing, the young Danish striker sought a breakthrough - sending a ball directly across the face of goal but Conor Wilkinson was inches away. The game finished 1-0, thus knocking Motherwell out of the Cup in the second round. 

Back over the border in the EFL League Two, academy midfielder Mauro Bandeira made an appearance late in the second half for Colchester United as they hosted MK Dons at the Colchester Community Stadium.

Three goals within the opening ten minutes meant Colchester led 2-1 for the majority of the match until the visitors equalised in the 88th minute. A stoppage-time winner from former Gunner Matthew Dennis completed the comeback for the Dons.

Eastbourne Borough suffered a second straight defeat in National League South, losing out to Bath City 2-1. Billy Vigar started the game for the Sports and was substituted at half-time. 

Over in the Romanian SuperLig, Catalin Cirjan was in the matchday squad but didn’t feature in Rapid Bucharest’s 3-1 win over Farul Constanta.
