New Delhi,UPDATED: Jun 4, 2024 14:10 IST

It is a thriller of an election results day. And one leader is away from all the bustle and must be quietly watching the drama unfold from his prison cell. That leader is none other than AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Kejriwal was granted interim bail for 21 days by the Supreme Court to campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader campaigned extensively from May 10 to June 1 for the party's as well as other INDIA bloc candidates.

Kejriwal had appealed to people to vote for the AAP and the INDIA bloc to keep him out of jail.

The AAP is a key player in Delhi and Punjab. The party is leading in three Lok Sabha seats in Punjab, where it is in power.

In Delhi, where the AAP contested in alliance with the Congress, the BJP is leading in all the seven seats.

Kejriwal must be watching all these developments from his cell in Delhi's Tihar jail.

He said earlier that he read books, like the Mahabharata, and watched TV in jail.

Despite no gains in Delhi, Kejriwal must be hooked to the TV set in Tihar. The 2024 Lok Sabha election has been nothing short of a thriller.

The INDIA bloc, of which the AAP is a constituent, has performed better than any exit poll had predicted. Kejriwal must be watching every detail and thinking of the road ahead.
