The man of the moment, David Warner is in for a chat. He says that it was his job to come out and score runs. Shares that his plan was to put pressure on the Pakistan bowlers. Mentions that it is just another Test match hundred for Australia. Feels that the wicket is nice and there are a lot of runs to be had here. On his celebration, he says that there cannot be a better way to silence the critics.

An entertaining session comes to an end! Session Summary - 93 runs and 2 wickets in 25 overs. After a dominant first session from Australia, it was Pakistan who started on the front foot after Lunch. Khurram Shahzad and Shaheen Afridi hit the right lengths beating both batters left, right, and centre. The latter finally managed to force a nick and got rid of Usman Khawaja, but that did not slow down David Warner as he held one end brilliantly. Marnus Labuschagne could not stick around for long as he was dismissed LBW by Shahzad who otherwise struggled with No Balls in this session as well. Warner brought up his stunning hundred silencing the haters in his own fashion. He was also dropped on 104 by Khurram Shahzad as he and Steven Smith ended the session strongly adding over 50 runs together. Pakistan pulled things back earlier in the session but they will be hoping to do a lot more in the last session or else this game could get away from them pretty quickly. As the scoreboard suggests, it was a tough session for Pakistan. Having lost the toss, Pakistan needed early breakthroughs, and given that there are two debutants in the side, their hopes rested on Shaheen Afridi. The left-arm seamer was all over the place with his lines and lengths, which did not help Khurram Shahzad's cause who was disciplined from the other end. Although Afridi did find his groove later in his spell, the two openers were well set by then. Brought on as the first change, Aamer Jamal started decently and it was unfortunate that Abdullah Shafique failed to hang on the catch of Usman Khawaja when he was on 21 off his bowling. Faheem Ashraf was expensive while Agha Salman has been tidy in the 3 overs bowled so far. All is not lost though for Pakistan as the surface is offering help when bowled in the right areas. Australia have absolutely bossed the first session on the opening day of the first Test! If the proceedings of the first session are anything to go by, Pakistan are in for a long day at the office. After Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to put runs on the board, it was a strong start from David Warner and Usman Khawaja. Both openers mixed caution with aggression as they were decisive in leaving good deliveries but made sure to punish freebies offered to them. Playing in what might well be his final Test series, Warner raced to fifty off 41 balls while Khawaja was happy to take the back seat in this partnership which currently stands unbeaten on 117. With the surface expected to get better to bat as the day progresses, David Warner and Usman Khawaja will look to pile on the misery in the post-Lunch session.
