An equaliser two minutes from time denies the reserves victory at the Estadi Johan Cruyff

Barça Atlètic were unable to win a game that ended with both teams down to ten men, when despite taking a 2-0 lead into the break, things ended with Barakaldo finding two goals of their own in the second half.

It was the Basques who lost a man first man, Jelbat red carded for bringing down Cedric when the latter was through on goal. And it was the same Barça man who capitalised on the numerical advantage to score on the half hour, converting a lovely pass from Darvich. Everything was in Barça's favour and just two minutes later the German sped down the wing and served up a back pass for Guille Fernández to extend the lead.

It all started to wrong when Mbacke was also sent off, in his case for a second bookable offence. Events were repeated in the other team's favour, for the man on the end of the foul leading to a sending off then became a goalscorer, Sannadi bringing the visitors back to within one just before the hour mark.

Things were suddenly not looking so sweet for Barça, and it took some fine saves from Astralaga to keep them ahead. But the Barça goalie could do nothing to prevent Imanol Torre from sending home an equaliser in the 88th minute.

Barça Atlètic next go to Gimnástica Segoviana on Saturday at 3.30pm CET.
