Barcelona forward Raphinha expressed his pride in the team's character and performance following a commanding 5-0 victory over Swiss side Young Boys in the Champions League. This win comes after challenging losses to Monaco and Osasuna, highlighting a crucial turnaround for the squad.

The Catalan club had begun their Champions League campaign with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Monaco two weeks ago. After a stellar start to LaLiga, which included seven consecutive wins, they faced a surprising 4-2 setback against Osasuna over the weekend.

Raphinha, who was named player of the match after contributing a goal and an assist to Robert Lewandowski's two strikes, emphasized that the result provided the much-needed confidence boost for the team. "With the new Champions League format, we knew we had to respond quickly after our loss at Monaco, and we did just that," he told Movistar Plus.

He acknowledged the added pressure following the loss at Osasuna but commended the team for their resilient response. "Every point and every goal counts in this new Champions League, so the more we can score, the better," he added.

Barcelona's manager, Hansi Flick, echoed Raphinha's sentiments about the importance of goal difference in the new format. While he praised the team's performance, he also noted that there’s room for improvement. "We need to start our matches stronger and be more dynamic as a team," Flick stated. "However, I’m pleased with Raphinha's performance. It’s important to remember that his success relies on the collective effort of the team."

Looking ahead, Barcelona will travel to Deportivo Alaves in LaLiga on Sunday, face Sevilla after the international break, and then prepare to host Bayern Munich in the Champions League on October 23, followed by a highly anticipated Clasico against Real Madrid three days later.
