FIVE players injured in horror week for Bayern Munich II, combined ...

Bayern Munich

In a rather extraordinary week of injuries even by the standards of Bayern Munich, four Bayern II players were injured in the span of a couple of days, as revealed by Bayern Munich’s official website. Here’s the full report:

Goalkeeper Benjamin Ballis will have to take a few days off due to a slight muscle injury. New signing Guido Della Rovere will be out for longer: The 17-year-old Italian [attacking midfielder], who shone with an assist against [SpVgg] Bayreuth, tore a muscle in the match against [the] Spielvereinigung. He is not expected to return until October. Vincent Manuba was also injured in the same game. The right-back suffered an injury to his lateral meniscus and will be operated on in the coming days. He is expected to be out for a good two months. And head coach Holger Seitz will also have to do without Lennard Becker for the time being. The midfielder sustained a thigh injury in training that will keep him out of action for several weeks.

That certainly explains why Manuba and Della Rovere were replaced at half time in the game against Bayreuth. But, of course, at Bayern Munich four injuries in a week are not enough. One day later, Bayern II would line up against Aschaffenburg in the Regionalliga Bayern, with full back Angelo Brückner mysteriously absent. The explanation for his absence would soon follow from the Bayern Campus twitter account:

Angelo #Brückner is out due to a muscle injury and will be absent for a few weeks.

Five injuries suffered, multiple key players and most of the full backs out: This was not a fruitful week for Bayern II. Adam Aznou must be shaking as the full-back injury curse starts to target him as well...
