Bayern Munich vs PSG: Live stream, game time thread, how to watch

Bayern vs PSG
Masterclass performance from Vincent Kompany. Bayern pressed high and hard until it got the goal, then pulled back to minimize PSG’s attacking opportunities. We forfeited possession in exchange for control of the game. Brilliantly planned and executed. The defense was particularly fantastic, constantly rooting out attacking scenarios before they could develop. Please pay Alphonso Davies to keep him here. It certainly helped that Dembele’s second yellow card occurred so early in the second half. It didn’t seem to effect the overall strategy, but it took the wind out of PSG’s sails. Our wingers did everything correctly, except the final pass/finish. They’ve never been entirely efficient with their chances, but it’s a recurring problem that other world class clubs don’t seem to struggle with.

FT: Bayern Munich grind out the victory over PSG. LET’S GOOO!!!

90’: Four minutes of stoppage time left to grind out this win.

88’: Thomas Müller plays a beautiful ball across the face of the goal, but Serge Gnabry’s poor touch wastes the chance.

84’: Yellow Card. Serge Gnabry’s physical tackle on Achraf Hakimi earns him a booking.

83’: Substitution. Marco Ascensio replaces Fabián Ruiz.

82’: Müller’s left-footed finesse curler just misses the mark.

76’: Yellow Card. Michael Olise wastes no time getting the referee’s attention.

74’: Substitution. Thomas Müller replaces Jamal Musiala.

74’: Jamal Musiala hits the post! Bayern searching for that game-clinching moment.

72’: Substitutions. Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise replace Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané. PSG takes out Bradley Barcola, adds Gonçalo Matias Ramos.

67’: Yellow card. Kingsley Coman picks up Bayern’s first booking of the match.

66’: After some nice combination play in the box, Kingsley Coman leans too far back and wastes the opportunity.

64’: Substitution. Lee Kang-in replaces Warren Zaire-Emery.

57’: Yellow card. Achraf Hakimi picks up a card for dissent, arguing against Dembele’s booking.

56’: RED CARD! Wow! Dembele picks up his second yellow card on a “cleats up” challenge on Alphonso Davies, leaving PSG a man down for the final 35 minutes.

55’: Through the first 10 minutes of the half, Bayern is sitting noticeably deeper and defending well with numbers.

46’: PSG manager Luis Enrique delivers a clever side flick on an out of bounds ball. Ball’s in your court, Vincent Kompany.

46’: 2nd half underway. Only thing that could make this game more entertaining is more goals.

Champions League Halftime Scores Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 RB Salzburg Inter Milan 1-0 RB Leipzig Barcelona 1-0 Brest Arsenal 3-0 Sporting CP Manchester City 1-0 Feyenoord Atalanta 4-1 Young Boys Atletico Madrid 6-0 Sparta Prague (final) AC Milan 3-2 Slovan Bratislava (final) Halftime Observations This game is being played at the sprint pace of a U21 match. Very vertical, very exhausting, very entertaining. Look for Bayern to slow it down with possession in the second half. Kudos to Jamal Musiala for occupying Safonov’s space on Joshua Kimmich’s corner, but avoiding contact. Harry Kane is struggling with the hectic pace. If he was a bit sharper on a few of these passes in the final third, Bayern would have had another few quality breakaway shots. It’s crazy that Kingsley Coman has been able to get behind Achraf Hakimi multiple times, purely with speed. Sané might find a tap-in on the far side if he can make parallel runs. Matvey Safonov has been shaky at best. Bayern might be able to coax another mistake out of him to put this game out of reach.

45’+2: Joshua Kimmich has a go from outside the box, but the keeper swallows it up.

45’+1: Manuel Neuer easily handles a volley from outside the box.

41’: Kingsley Coman gets behind Hakimi but the volley barely clears the crossbar. Bayern are pressing hard for another goal before halftime.

38’: GOAL!!! Matvey Safonov’s poor clearance drops directly to Kim Min-jae, who heads it in.

37’: Yellow Card. Dembele picks up the first card of the match.

32’: PSG finds some space on the counter attack, but Dembele is unable to beat Neuer. The rebound is blasted a yard wide.

28’: Kingsley Coman weaves through the defense, but the left-footed shot is just wide.

20’: Dembele gets a steal in the final third but the shot weakly rolls to Manuel Neuer.

12’: Konrad Laimer sets up Leroy Sané for a nice opportunity, but Sané’s one-timer isn’t enough to break the deadlock.

7’: Jamal Musiala somehow finds himself alone in the middle of the box, but hits it right at the keeper.

1’: CCCHHHAAAMMMPPPIIIOOONNNSSS!!!

Leroy Sané will make his first Champions League start of the campaign. Sacha Boey and Mathys Tel are both coming back from injuries but are available. Expect to see Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise enter the match around the 60th minute.

With both teams atop their domestic leagues but struggling to find wins in the Champions League, Bayern Munich are hosting PSG for a contentious rematch of the 2020 final. In 2023, Bayern shut out PSG twice to advance to the quarterfinals.

Will history repeat itself? Or is PSG poised to strike hard, strike first, and show no mercy?
