The imposter cat hiding around the capybara enclosure in Zoo Negara has finally been accepted by his peers and is officially a permanent resident and a tourist attraction.
Earlier in April, an orange cat named Oyen (yes, like all orange cats in Malaysia) was seen hanging around with a herd of capybaras under the roof, sheltering from the rain. It caught the attention of netizens around Malaysia because of its incredible camouflage mode among the brown capybaras.

Camouflage!Being a resident there for quite some time, the people at Zoo Negara decided to make a signage to officially welcome their permanent resident there along with the biggest species of rodents on earth.
The video was uploaded by Zoo Negara itself on their TikTok. It shows Oyen’s name below the Capybara title at the wall of the enclosure. Inside there, you can see a cheeky long orange tail among all the brown bodies, rummaging for food.

Although cats are carnivores and capybaras are herbivores, it didn’t stop Oyen to sniff around the feeding spot in search of some edible food.
Maybe Oyen itself is confused about whether it was a cat or a capybara.
Netizens reacted to the good newsWith the ginger cat stealing all the spotlight from the capybaras, a lot of people commented on Zoo Negara’s TikTok. Some joked around saying how Oyen was finally made into an official member of the herd.
Some were just amused with how Oyen was seen eating the veggies like its peers are doing.
Orange cats just never cease to amaze us, don’t they? Thank god it only went to the capybaras. Imagine if it were to befriend the tigers or lions. Yikes.
