Girl group Cherry Bullet will officially disband as of Monday, five years after debuting in January 2019.

“We have decided to end Cherry Bullet's activities as of today after careful and long talks with members Haeyoon, Yuju, Bora, Remi, Jiwon, Chaerin and May,” the band's agency, FNC Entertainment, said in a statement Monday.

Members Haeyoon, Remi, Jiwon and May will end their contracts with FNC Entertainment and seek separate paths. Yuju, Bora and Chaerin will remain with the agency.

“We thank the fans who loved Cherry Bullet and apologize for the abrupt news,” the agency said. “We will remember all the love that you have sent the members. We ask that you support the members as they start their own journey in the future.”

Cherry Bullet debuted in January 2019 as the second girl group rolled out under FNC Entertainment. The group set off to a modest start with its debut track, “Q&A” (2019), then steadily rose up the music charts with “Really Really” (2019) and “Love So Sweet” (2021).

The band bid farewell to three artists early on, with former members Mirae, Kokoro and LinLin leaving in December 2019 without explanation. Cherry Bullet continued its activities as a seven-member group.
