Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians will lock horns in Match 43 of IPL 2024 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar’s LIVE coverage of the IPL 2024 match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

3rd over

Williams continues. FOUR! Not too well-timed by Kishan as he pulls this shortish delivery to the midwicket fence. But with only two fielders in, that’s still a boundary. A bit of movement in the air as Kishan in two minds, which results in a couple of back-to-back dot balls. This is smashed down the ground by Williams gets a hand to it and stops a sure-shot boundary. Three dots in a row now.

MI 29/0 in 2 overs

Now, there’s another pause in play. Not sure what the matter is. They are checking for a possible boundary last ball of the previous over and that has been given four. Looks like Khaleel didn’t do a clean job after all. He has the ball now though for the second over.

Just a couple of the first two balls. FOUR! Yorker angling into Kishan, who flicks it away for a boundary through midwicket. FOUR! This is lucky! Thick outside edge and the ball runs away wide of Pant for another boundary. FOUR! Hat-trick of boundaries as Kishan drills this over the bowler’s head for another four. Fullish and driven to mid-on for a single off the last ball by Kishan. Good start for Mumbai.

MI 14/0 in 1 over

Kishan and Rohit will need to get off to a rollicking start. Lizaad Williams, the debutant, has the new ball. And he slips in his run-up just as he reaches the crease to deliver the ball. He has changed his boots and the new pair of spikes should do the trick for the debutant.

Kishan is off the mark with a single through mid-on off the second ball of the innings. Going down leg-side and called wide. Nasty bouncer, Rohit takes his eye off the ball and it takes the top edge and behind the keeper for a couple of runs.

Now, a kite has flown across to the square and there’s a little interruption. Rohit hands it over to Pant, who gives it to the umpire.

Williams oversteps and the buzzer goes off. But he nails the yorker next ball and Rohit can’t put away the free-hit. Freebies! Angling down leg-side and this runs away to the boundary too - five extras.

Very full and flicked over midwicket for a couple and that will be 12 runs off the first over.

Another 250+ chase on the cards?

And we have another record

DC 154/2 in 12 overs

Another over for Nabi. Starts by firing in a yorker against Hope. Just a single. Pant nudges one around the corner to return the strike. Full from Nabi now. Hope hits the same target. SIX MORE!! Nabi drags it short now. Hope flat bats it over mid wicket for another six.

DC 138/2 in 11 overs

Third over for Piyush Chawla. The experienced leggie has been hard to get away with so far. He starts with a dot ball against Pant. The DC skipper tucks one to long on to get off the strike. Shai Hope decides to take Chawla on. Pitched up outside the off stump. Hope launches it over long on for his first six of the day.

Pant after the toss!

We were looking to bat first. I think it will get slower in the second innings. It has been amazing, we’re getting the kind of wickets we want. As a team we have to play well and we have been. This is something we talked about - how to control the innings. Bowling with the new ball and bowling at the death is difficult, one over here or there is making all the difference. Prithvi Shaw misses out, Kumar Kushagra comes in.

Hardik Pandya after the toss

We’re going to bowl first. The ground is small. It’s better to bat second on a smaller ground. Every game is a new game, we make sure we are not out. We keep fighting and keep coming hard in each game. The mood is fine, happy chats, all is well. You should not really focus on what has happened in the past. Anyone can beat anyone. Our goal is to play our brand of cricket and put our best foot forward. Only one change. Gerald Coetzee misses out due to a stomach bug. Luke Wood comes in.
