Ryan Reynolds is back to steal our hearts with the third instalment of his lovable Deadpool series as he gets his long-awaited match-up with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine but which Marvel movies will you need to watch to follow the plot?

Deadpool vs. Wolverine hit cinemas on Wednesday, July 24 and after two movies of teasing their rivalry, sees Wade Wilson face off with James Howlett/Logan as Jackman returns to the role for the first time since 2018.

It is a landmark moment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe too as the X-Men finally join the world of The Avengers and Spider-Man, teeing up all sorts of box office busting future collaborations.

The movie appears to be debuting strong too, holding an 8.3/10 on imDb after some initial fears that the film may have overextended itself trying to deliver to fans' expectations, but director Shawn Levy seems to have pulled the rabbit out of the hat.
