Singapore's Loh Kean Yew returns to badminton BWF World Tour action at the Denmark Open 2024 this week, with the latter rounds of the tournament available to stream live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app (territorial restrictions may apply).

The tournament runs from 15–20 October in Odense, Denmark.

Loh, the 2021 men's singles world champion, reached the quarter-finals at the Olympic Games Paris 2024 but then suffered two first-round exits on the World Tour before a round-of-16 appearance at the China Open four weeks ago.

The Singaporean has fallen to world number 11, meaning he finds himself unseeded in Odense, hometown of his good friend and Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen.

In the first round, Loh will face fifth seed Naraoka Kodai of Japan, a difficult test first up. However, Loh will take some comfort from knowing he holds a perfect 4–0 career record against the Japanese, including winning their first-round clash at this very tournament last year, which was the last time the two met each other.

Hong Kong China's Lee Cheuk Yiu or Lei Lanxi of People's Republic of China potentially await in the last 16, with Axelsen serving as a potential quarter-final opponent.
