KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysian actress Diana Danielle shared that she had spent a full year trying to reconcile and improve her marriage with actor Farid Kamil. But it was futile.
In an Instagram Story on Nov 3, Diana urged Farid to let her go and said it would be cruel for him to prolong the divorce process.
Diana, 32, and Farid, 43, tied the knot on Nov 3, 2012, and share two children aged nine and 11. The couple were legally divorced on Aug 10, 2023, but reconciled a month later.
Diana filed for divorce from Farid for the second time at the Syariah Lower Court in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 4.
“We have faced moments on the brink of breaking down countless times. Let’s not pretend there’s no ‘baggage’ from the previous months,” she wrote in English on Nov 3.
“I continued to trust and put in effort, but now, if he insists on keeping me bound until I’m suffocated, all the way through until the hakam (arbitrator) process, his actions are deeply cruel.”
The Imaginur (2023) star made it clear that she would not be persuaded by Farid any more, adding that she no longer wants to continue with the marriage.
“My intentions are very clear, and there’s nothing else I want except to no longer be under his responsibility. Let me go,” she wrote.
According to mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news portal, Diana also posted a video of herself burning some love letters written by Farid for their 12th wedding anniversary. “Letters of deception don’t have a place in my heart,” she captioned the clip.
The actress reiterated her stance in another Instagram Story on Nov 4.
“One thing is clear and constant: I am seeking a divorce,” she wrote. “Anything more is simply a distraction. I will maintain this stance until the case is concluded.” THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
