Driving less can earn you cash rebates from Etiqa

The less you drive, the more you earn with Etiqa’s ‘Drive Less Save More’ add-on.

PETALING JAYA: If you believe every cloud has a silver lining, you will probably agree that the pandemic has taught you some meaningful life lessons: you treasure family and friends more, and realise that your health is indeed your wealth.

However, you may also be experiencing the darker side of the pandemic – you may have lost loved ones, or may have been forced to take a drastic pay cut or even lost your job.

For many, the burden of recouping lost earnings is far from over. Given this, Etiqa has come up with a creative way to offer cash rebates.

For those still working from home, not having to drive to and from work is one of the perks – and it’s about to get better. Etiqa is rewarding you with up to 30% off your basic premium or contribution in cash rebates.

The “Drive Less Save More” add-on is available for free to all existing customers upon renewal, or for new customers signing up who meet all eligibility requirements:

insured or participant must be between 25 and 80 years old; vehicles must be up to 15 years old; insured or sum covered for RM12,000 and above; insured or covered vehicles must be for private use only.

You can add on this benefit with three simple steps:

After signing up for or renewing an Etiqa Motor Insurance or Motor Takaful plan with the Drive Less Save More add-on, upload an image of your car odometer reading and number plate via the Etiqa Smile App to activate your benefit. To claim your cash rebate, upload your car odometer reading during the coverage period. You can upload an odometer reading every 10 or more days. Upon expiration of your Motor Insurance or Motor Takaful plan, a final submission of your car odometer reading is required. You will be notified via an SMS reminder three days before the expiration date.

The cash rebates are calculated as a percentage of the monthly premiums or contributions, even if a claim has been made.

More than 70,000 vehicles have already registered and benefited from this free add-on since the campaign was launched in June 2021.

There are other benefits apart from saving money: driving less would mean lower car maintenance costs, and reduced depreciation can result in a higher resale value for your vehicle.
