Thalapathy Vijay's last film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69, goes on the floor in October this year. The makers released the official announcement poster on Saturday, September 14.

The makers of Thalapathy 69 on Saturday made the first official announcement about the film. Sharing a new poster of the film, KVN Productions, welcomed Thalapathy Vijay onboard and confirmed that the film would be directed by H Vinoth. The poster further revealed that the music of the film, which is yet to be titled, is being composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Thalapathy 69 is going to be Vinoth's first Tamil direction and the last film of Vijay's career. As per the poster, the Tamil superstar is playing a 'torchbearer of democracy', hinting at the story being a vigilante drama. However, not much about the film has bene given away yet.

While making the big announcement on the social media platform X, KVN Productions wrote, "We are beyond proud & excited to announce that our first Tamil film is #Thalapathy69, directed by the visionary #HVinoth, with music by the sensational Rockstar @anirudhofficial. Super happy to collaborate with the one and only #Thalapathy @actorvijay, The torch bearer of Democracy is arriving on Oct 2025 (sic)."

Produced by Venkat K Narayana under his home, the film will be co-produced by Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith NK. The shoot of Thalapathy 69 is scheduled to begin in October this year. The makers are eyeing a release in October next year. Official announcements regarding the entire cast and crew will be made shortly. KVN Productions is unveiling a unique strategy to celebrate the journey of Vijay with fans, cherishing all the old memories and creating new ones during the shoot of Thalapathy 69.
