Like India, Bangladesh too started their campaign from the quarter-finals. Against Malaysia, the Bangladesh cricket team had a tricky outing as it won the match by only two runs after Afif Hossain bowled a tight final over that conceded just two runs and picked up a wicket.
Bangladesh contested in both previous editions of the Asian Games where cricket was played. They were the inaugural gold medallists in the men’s event in 2010 and went on to win a bronze medal at Incheon 2014.
