A vs IND: Live score and updates from the third ODI between South Africa and India at the Boland Park in Paarl on Thursday.

32nd over

Arshdeep continues. Two dot balls to start with.

SA 169/4 in 31 overs

Avesh into his third over. A decent over. Six runs off it.

SA 163/4 in 30 overs

Arshdeep replaces Washington. Risky pull shot from Zorzi first ball and it lands short of the mid-wicket fielder. The left-hander then tucks one off his pads for a single. One more for Klaasen next ball. Yorker, Zorzi misses the flick and huge LBW appeal but not given. India reviews. OUT! Great review as there are three reds on the screen and Zorzi has to go. A great knock comes to an end but Zorzi’s dismissal at this stage could just give India the upper hand. David Miller starts with a single down the ground. Klaasen cuts this behind point for a single to end the over.

SA 159/3 in 29 overs

Avesh comes back. FOUR! Short and slightly awkwardly pulled by Klaasen to the boundary behind.

SA 152/3 in 28 overs

Washington again. Eight runs from the over as Klaasen finds his first boundary. SA needs 6.59 runs an over at this point.

SA 144/3 in 27 overs

Axar to bowl his eighth over. Darts in a wide one that goes way outside leg-stump. Still, just three runs from the over.

SA 141/3 in 26 overs

Washington comes back and Markram greets him with a boundary first ball as he steps out and drives the ball through extra-cover. OUT! But the off-spinner has the last laugh as Markram has to go. He goes for the reverse-sweep and the ball goes off his gloves and loops up before Rahul settles under it. Heinrich Klaasen comes in and defends the first ball back to the bowler.

SA 135/2 in 25 overs

SIX! Markram looks to break the shackles and steps out to Axar and launches it over long-on for a maximum. Dropped! Zorzi goes for the reverse-sweep and Mukesh fails to hold on to the ball at point. It was a tough chance as Mukesh was on the move and the ball was quite high above his head. SIX! What a cracking sweep by Zorzi. Absolutely belts it over midwicket for a huge maximum.

SA 120/2 in 24 overs

Mukesh will continue. Slower one and Zorzi is beaten looking to defend as the ball angles across from close to his off-stump. A single next ball at long-off for the left-hander. Played with soft hands by Markram to short third-man for a single. Slower one again and Zorzi plays it late to point for one more. Full on middle and off and Markram drives down the ground for a single.

SA 116/2 in 23 overs

Axar bowls his sixth over. Zorzi has been hit on the shoulder by a throw while making his ground at the non-striker’s end. Markram gets one off his outside edge and the ball runs away to deep third for a couple runs. Four runs from the over.

SA 112/2 in 22 overs

FOUR! Flicked by Markram through midwicket as Mukesh goes too full and angles it into his legs. Pulled away over midwicket by Zorzi but the outfield is sluggish and he will only get a couple. FOUR! Slightly short again outside off and Zorzi picks the gap to perfection this time as he pulls this along the ground to the midwicket boundary.

SA 101/2 in 21 overs

Axar will continue from the other end. He turns one away to beat Markram’s outside edge and the ball goes on top of off-stump. Zorzi sweeps to deep square-leg for a single and that’s 100 up for SA in 20.5 overs. Markram punches one off the backfoot for a single to end the over.

SA 95/2 in 20 overs

Mukesh Kumar comes back to break the monotony of spin from both ends. He went for 25 runs in his first three overs and will look to make amends. Driven by Zorzi to mid-off for a quick single. Punched through cover by Markram for one more. Just three runs from the over as Mukesh makes a good comeback.

SA 92/2 in 19 overs

Axar again. A couple of runs for Markram off the first ball. The captain then goes back and punches one down the ground for one more. Drifted on the pads and Zorzi flicks it to the short fine-leg fielder. Outside edge for Markram as Axar gets the ball to grip into the surface a bit.

SA 88/2 in 18 overs

Washington will continue after the Drinks Break. Tossed up and Markram pushes this to long-on with a straight bat for a single. FOUR! Zorzi brings out the cut again and collects a couple at deep point. He then works one off his hips for a single through midwicket. Markram clips a delivery on leg-side for a single at square-leg. Five runs from the over and India could really do with a breakthrough soon.

SA 83/2 in 17 overs

Markram punches one off the backfoot to long-off for a single as Axar continues. Zorzi defends this to point. Another dot as he pushes this one to mid-on. He then sweeps to deep square-leg for a single to get to his fifty off just 54 balls after smashing a hundred in the last game. Just three singles from the over.

SA 80/2 in 16 overs

One more over for Washington. A single at long-on for Zorzi off the first ball of the over. Markram is off the mark off his fourth ball as he tucks one off his hips for a single behind square-leg. One more for Zorzi at long-off. He moves to 49. Markram is in trouble as he looks to make room and gets an inside edge onto the flap of his pad. A single to end the over.

SA 76/2 in 15 overs

Axar will continue. Vd Dussen is struggling to rotate strike against the spinners. He crawls to 2 off 16 balls. OUT! And something had to give and it is vd Dussen’s patience. With the dot balls building up, he tried to make room outside off and manufacture a shot but was undone with an arm ball and crashed into his stumps. Aiden Markram comes in next.

SA 75/1 in 14 overs

Washington again. Zorzi tucks one through square-leg for a single after a couple of dot balls. Pushed to long-on by vd Dussen for one more. Cut away by Zorzi for a single off the last ball of the over.

SA 72/1 in 13 overs

Axar Patel into the attack. SIX! Zorzi greets him with a maximum first ball. It was pitched in the slot and Zorzi sends the ball sailing over deep midwicket. Just a single off the next five deliveries.

SA 65/1 in 12 overs

Washington to continue. He turns one past Zorzi and beats the left-hander. He then darts the next one at 100 kmph. The following delivery is slightly slower and Zorzi pushes it through cover for a single. Vd Dussen goes for a reverse sweep but can’t really make good connection. Just a single from the over.

SA 64/1 in 11 overs

Arshdeep continues. A good length ball outside off to Zorzi and then an accurate yorker to vd Dussen. Just a single off the first three balls. A short ball down leg-side is called wide. Just two runs from the over.

SA 62/1 in 10 overs

Washington will continue. The off-spinner mixes his lengths and pace well to keep the batters quiet. That’s the end of the PowerPlay and India seems to have pulled back some momentum.

SA 59/1 in 9 overs

Arshdeep again. OUT! Second ball of the over and Hendricks is gone. Angled across just outside off-stump on a full length and Hendricks gets an outside edge as he looks to push the ball. Arshdeep is pumped. Rassie van der Dussen is in next. Four dot balls to end the over.

SA 58/0 in 8 overs

Washington Sundar into the attack. A couple of singles to begin the over. Zorzi cuts one past to beat point for a couple more. Tight over, just four from it.

SA 54/0 in 7 overs

Arshdeep comes back. Hendricks swings across the line and the ball goes high in the air and lands safely in the deep midwicket region for a couple of runs. FOUR! Room outside off and Hendricks absolutely crunches that through cover-point for a boundary and that’s 50 up for the Proteas in just 6.3 overs. Next ball is nudged to deep third for a single. Slashed fine to deep third by Zorzi for one more. Beaten! Closer to off-stump from over the wicket and Hendricks has a waft in the channel and misses.

SA 46/0 in 6 overs

Change of ends for Mukesh. FOUR! Good length ball and Zorzi swivels and pulls this to the midwicket boundary. SIX! Short and Zorzi pulls this behind to the fine-leg boundary for a maximum. Zorzi gets an inside edge as he pokes in the channel but luck is on his side as the ball doesn’t carry to the keeper.

SA 36/0 in 5 overs

Avesh Khan replaces Mukesh Kumar. Starts with one that angles across Zorzi wide outside off and he gets away with it. FOUR! Width again and Zorzi punishes Avesh this time with a cracking whip through covers for a boundary. FOUR! Room outside off again and this time Hendricks pounces on it. He slashes it over cover for a boundary.

SA 27/0 in 4 overs

Arshdeep continues. Zorzi pushes the ball to mid-on and hares for a quick one. Direct-hit at the non-striker’s end would have been trouble. FOUR! Good length and angling across wide outside off; Hendricks frees his arms and lifts this over the in-field for a boundary. Bouncer and this goes too high and called wide. Slower one to end the over and Hendricks can only drive it as far as the extra-cover fielder.

SA 21/0 in 3 overs

Mukesh continues. Wide down leg-side off the second ball of the over. Hendricks gets an inside edge and a single on leg-side. It is also a no-ball. Mukesh fires in a wide on the free-hit. FOUR! Zorzi gets a bottom edge that goes past Rahul and to the boundary off the free-hit. FOUR! Short and pulled away by Zorzi to the midwicket fence. The ball was in the air for a long time but also well clear of the deep square-leg fielder. A quick single to end the 13-run over.

SA 8/0 in 2 overs

Arshdeep Singh from the other end. On middle and leg and Zorzi tucks it to midwicket for a dot ball. Beaten! Width offered outside off by Arshdeep and Zorzi is beaten trying to cut this square of the wicket. Drifted down leg-side and wide called. FOUR! Short, Zorzi gets a top edge on the pull and the ball goes over the keeper and to the boundary. Another wide ball down leg-side by Arshdeep. Zorzi gets an inside edge onto his thigh off the last ball of the over.

SA 2/0 in 1 over

Mukesh Kumar with the new ball. Reeza Hendricks and Tony de Zorzi to begin South Africa’s chase of 297. Full and straight first ball and Hendricks defends it to mid-off. Drifted on the pads and flicked for a couple through midwicket by Hendricks for a couple. Mukesh keeps it on the stumps for the rest of the over. Just two from it.

IND 296/8 in 50 overs

Rinku on the strike. Burget to bowl. Drives it hard past cover for four to begin the over. Follows it up with a SIX! Huge hit as he picks the length ball on the pads. OUT! Low full toss and Rinku once again slogs it leg side but is caught in the deep. He goes for 38 off 27 balls. Avesh Khan at the crease. Takes a single on the first ball. Arshdeep takes a single as well. Avesh swings, misses but the batters run a single on the last ball.

IND 102/3 in 19 overs

Rahul pushes the first ball through point for a single as Mulder continues. FOUR! Short ball and Samson’s eyes light up as he pulls this away with disdain to the midwicket boundary. IND 50/2 in 8 overs

First bowling change as Beuran Hendricks comes into the attack. Samson tucks one off his pads for a single through square-leg. OUT! Huge lbw appeal and given! Sudharsan has a chat with Samson and goes up for the review. This was angling in from over the wicket and kept a touch low to beat Sudharsan’s defence. It is clipping top of leg-stump on umpire’s call and Sudharsan has to go for 10. Captain KL Rahul comes in and has a task at hand. A slip in place. Rahul is off the mark with a single at deep third. That brings up the 50 for India in 7.5 overs.

IND 48/1 in 7 overs

Angling across wide outside off and Samson slashes it to deep third for a single. One more for Sudharsan next ball at deep third as he gets a slight outside edge. IND 35/1 in 5 overs

Burger again. SIX! Full on middle and leg and Patidar stands his ground and dispatches this over deep midwicket for a maximum. Burger pulls his length back next ball and Patidar gets a bottom edge on that. FOUR! Short and this is pulled away to the midwicket boundary. He didn’t time this perfectly but there was enough power to take the ball across the rope. OUT! And Patidar is clean bowled. Full on middle stump and Patidar looks to whip this across the line and misses. Sanju Samson comes in next. He turns down the first ball he faces to deep fine-leg for a single. Sudharsan pulls this along the ground straight to square-leg.

IND 24/0 in 4 overs

Williams to continue. Full on a leg-stump line and Sudharsan misses the flick. Huge appeal for LBW and South Africa takes the review. Sudharsan survives as he seems to have got a feather on that. FOUR! Too full outside off and Sudharsan leans into a drive through point and gets his first boundary of the day.

IND 20/0 in 3 overs

Burger will continue. Patidar gets an inside edge first ball of the over and takes a single behind square after looking to drive through cover. Sudharsan pushes this off the back foot to deep third for a single. Short ball,, it is very high and Patidar pulls out of the pull shot halfway, the keeper too fumbles it and called wide. Another short ball and Patidar shapes for the pull and then lets it go.

IND 5/0 in 1 over

We are done with the national anthems. Debutant Rajat Patidar and B. Sai Sudharsan will open the batting on what is an extremely hot day in Paarl. Nandre Burger beats Patidar first ball with a full delivery angling across just outside off-stump. Next one swings way down leg-side and wide called. Patidar is off the mark with a single at deep third after he gets a leading edge. Swinging away wide outside off and Sudharsan lets it go. Next one is also let go by Sudharsan.
