Japan's Meteorological Agency says it is looking into the possibility of tsunami triggered by a volcanic eruption in Indonesia.

Officials say that Mount Ruang in North Sulawesi province erupted early Tuesday, and that could trigger tsunami.
If it generates a tsunami that reaches Japan, it could hit Okinawa Prefecture as early as around 6 a.m. local time.

The volcano previously erupted on April 17, forcing people living nearby to flee to another island.
Officials are observing tidal changes and analyzing satellite images. They urge people to keep updated with the latest information.
