Backstage Update on Rumored Injury for Jade Cargill
– As previously reported, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill was mysteriously taken out backstage last week on Friday Night SmackDown. WWE later issued an update on Cargill, stating that she suffered a deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a bruised kidney, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee and facial lacerations. It’s rumored that the angle is the result of Cargill being legitimately injured. Dave Meltzer had more details on Cargill during today’s Wrestling Observer Radio.
Meltzer reported that he was told that Cargill would be out of action for “three months minimum.” Meltzer added, “Whatever the actual injury is is being kept very secret because I’ve heard from several in the company who are aware of the actual injury, and they said not only do they not know what the actual injury is, but people very close to her don’t even know what the injury is. But it is an injury.”
Bryan Alvarez speculated that Cargill likely has a torn meniscus since the layoff time for that injury is usually around a minimum of three months. Additionally, Meltzer speculated that among the ailments WWE listed in their announcement on Cargill that one or two of the injuries are legitimate, but he doesn’t know which ones.
It’s unknown when Jade Cargill will be back on TV. WWE has not yet announced how they plan to handle the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Cargill’s injury hiatus.
