Amitabh Bachchan's much-awaited look from the upcoming film 'Kalki 2898 AD' was revealed after the KKR vs RCB match on April 21. The sci-fi film will release on May 9.

The makers of 'Kalki 2898 AD' shared the teaser of Amitabh Bachchan's look from the sci-fi dystopian film, after the thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) match between KKR and RCB on Sunday, April 21. The veteran actor will be playing the role of Ashwatthama in the Nag Ashwin-directorial.

The 21-second promo video, premiered on Star Sports following the conclusion of the KKR vs RCB match, begins with Amitabh Bachchan, dressed in earthy hues, in a cave, offering prayers to Shiva's linga. In the backdrop of soothing music, a child's voice is heard questioning him, "Can you not die? Are you divine? Who are you?"

Further in the teaser, Big B's character declares, "Since ancient times, I have awaited the arrival of the Avatar. I am Guru Drona’s son. Ashwatthama."

Earlier, the team of Kalki 2898 AD shared a poster of Big B's character from the film and wrote, "The time has come to know who he is (sic)."

Kalki 2898 AD is touted to be one of the most-anticipated films of the year.

At a press conference, Nag Ashwin spoke about why he named the film 'Kalki 2898 AD'. He said, "Our film starts in Mahabharat and ends in 2898. That's the title of the film. It's called 'Kalki 2898 AD'. It spans 6000 years, a sort of distance in time."

The post-production work of 'Kalki 2898 AD' is currently underway. The sci-fi flick will release in theatres on May 9
