‘Star kids look as weird as boiled eggs.’ Kangana Ranaut in a fresh salvo blames nepotism brigade for Hind
However, the ‘Queen’ star did not stop at that. Drawing a comparison between southern actors, and Bollywood star kids, the actress said that those over privileged newcomers angling for a Bollywood debut or already stars in the Hindi film industry fail to make a connection with the Indian audience because they are not rooted, and that's resulting in the rise of Southern cinema over Bollywood.
According to a Hindustan Times report, The ‘Dhaakad’ actress, in an interview with ABP Live, said, “The way they (Southern actors) have a connection with their audience, it is very strong. I wouldn’t say fans, it’s much more than that. With us what happens is that their (stars’) kids go abroad to complete their studies. They talk in English, and watch only Hollywood films. They eat only with a knife and fork and talk differently. So, how will they connect?” Dekhne me bhi ajeeb se aise lagte hai jaise uble hue ande (They also look weird like boiled eggs). Their entire look has changed so people cannot relate. I don’t mean to troll anyone.”Ranaut had, in the past, gone after several star kids, and had especially harsh words to say about actress Alia Bhatt. Bhatt’s latest release ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ was mercilessly bashed by the ‘Dhakkad’ actress. Ranaut had said that the Bhatt-starrer Rs 200 crore movie will blow up in smokes at the box-office, although things didn’t quite turn out that way, and the film was a big hit.
Ranaut will next be seen in ‘Dhaakad’. Starring Arjun Rampal in a key role, the film will hit the theatres on May 20.
