On show was Kate Middleton's beautiful Trooping the Colour outfit, which is a new addition to her royal wardrobe. The Princess wore a dazzling white coat dress with a black and white striped bow detail on the neckline. Pinned to her chest was a diamond brooch. In what was a touching nod to her son, Prince Louis, she opted to wear a pair of her Cassandra Goad Cavolfiore Pearl Stud Earrings, which she first wore for her son's christening back in 2018.

The Princess Royal, Colonel of the Blues and Royals, and the Prince of Wales, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, also took part in the extraordinary military showcase.

Trooping the Colour marks the first public appearance the Princess of Wales has made since she shared her cancer diagnosis with the world back in March. In a message released ahead of the event, Kate said she had been ‘blown away by all the kind messages of support and encouragement’ she has received during her cancer treatment. The mother-of-three wrote she has been ‘making good progress’, having ‘good and bad days’ but plans to attend a number of engagements over the summer months.

Movingly, she wrote, ‘I am learning how to be patient, especially with uncertainty. Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body, and allowing myself to take this much needed time to heal.’
