Official: Real Madrid register 19-year-old academy starlet in La Liga
With their first game of the 2024/25 La Liga season only a few days away, Real Madrid have added a new name to the list of registered players for the competition.
Indeed, the reigning champions of Spain and Europe have registered teenage defender Jacobo Ramon with La Liga three days before their opening game against RCD Mallorca.
The 19-year-old defender has been given the #31 shirt number which indicates that he is not registered as a first-team member, in which case he would have had a number between 1-25.

Instead, Jacobo Ramon will be registered as a reserve team player with the first-team squad.
Given that Real Madrid parted ways with Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin this summer, they are light on numbers in defence, especially with David Alaba still not recovering from his ACL injury.
As such, Carlo Ancelotti & co. decided to turn to the academy reserves for reinforcements rather than signing a new player after missing out on top target Leny Yoro.
Joan Martinez was handpicked after impressing during pre-season but an ACL injury sustained by the 16-year-old has now opened the door for Jacobo Ramon instead.
