Lee Zii Jia reaches semi-finals at BWF Thailand Open 2024

Lee Zii Jia has advanced to the semi-finals at the 2024 BWF Toyota Thailand Open in Bangkok.

The Malaysian badminton star needed 66 minutes on Friday (17 May) to beat People's Republic of China shuttler Lu Guangzu 21-13, 16-21, 21-18.

It was a close affair all the way as sixth-seeded Lee was not as consistent as he was during his convincing quarter-finals win over Jeon Hyeok-Jin.

Lee eventually closed out the decisive game 21-18.

He will now face the winner of the match between Chou Tien-Chen of Chinese Taipei, who beat second seed Naraoka Kodai of Japan 21-14, 21-15 in straight games..
