Blackpink Lisa has released her new single, Rockstar, which is her first solo in three years outside the group. The upbeat track showcases her prowess as she asserts her status as a rockstar through her confident lyrics. Produced by Ryan Tedder and Sam Homaee, the clubby single solidifies Lisa's position as a powerhouse in the music industry.

Before this, Lisa dropped a solo album ‘Lalisa’ in 2021 and secured a solo deal with RCA earlier this year, alongside the formation of her new management company LLOUD Co. ‘Lalisa’ and the album's second single 'Money' both achieved top ten positions on the Billboard Global 200 chart. Notably, ‘Money’ broke the record for the longest-charting song by a female K-pop soloist on both the US Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Chart.

In earlier interviews, Lisa expressed her ambition to explore various facets of the entertainment industry, including photography and acting. While her plans for a new solo album have not been confirmed, she is set to make her acting debut in HBO's acclaimed series ‘The White Lotus‘ season three.

Meanwhile, since 2016, Lisa and Blackpink have shattered records, cementing their status as one of the biggest pop groups globally. Notably, they made history last year as the first K-pop girl group to headline Coachella. Currently, Blackpink is focused on their solo careers and has parted ways with YG Entertainment on an individual level, but remains with the label as a group. The decision for each member of Blackpink to pursue solo endeavours outside the group's label YG reflects their desire for greater autonomy in their careers.

Lisa made her debut with bandmates Rose, Jisoo and Jennie as a part of the group Blackpink in 2016.
