That is the first bit of attacking intent from Manchester United, Amad Diallo weaves outside then inside before trying to curl an effort into the far corner but it drifts past the post. That is a bit of a wake up call to Manchester City who have had it pretty much their own way so far.

Manchester United are almost punished for giving the ball away near their own goal. James McAtee latched onto Bobb's pass before curling an effort which rattled off the post. City are getting closer to the lead and United can't really handle them.

Oscar Bobb comes inside the penalty area past Martinez and Evans before lashing a shot well over the crossbar. The Norweigan did brilliantly to tee the chance up for himself but he will be disappointed with the finish.

The ball is hooked over to the left-hand side and Haaland tries to get clean contact on it but is unable to do so and United survive.

Jeremy Doku bursts down the left-hand side, going past Dalot and Maguire as if they weren't there before hanging up a cross which O'Reilly couldn't meet. That was brilliant skill and pace from Doku in the build up though.

Harry Maguire is down after what looked to be an accidental coming together with Erling Haaland.

Manchester City are starting to move the ball about now with ease, United are staying disciplined for now and ensuring City's play is going side to side and not penetrative.

Oscar Bobb with a moment of encouragement for City, picking up the ball and driving into the final third before the move petered out.

Both sides are just trying to ease into the match and move the ball around in these opening exchanges.
