Mexico vs Ecuador live updates: Copa America 2024 latest score ...
72' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
Minda is brought down by Chavez near the corner of Mexico's box. The Mexico players vehemently disagree with the call and surround the ref, with Gonzalez coming out from goal to lead the complaints. Chavez is booked.
Ecuador are increasingly staying down between plays to work the clock, much to the annoyance of the Mexico players and supporters.
71' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
The game is getting increasingly stretched, with chances coming thick and fast at both ends. A goal for Ecuador would put them in a very strong position to advance, while a goal for Mexico would flip which team is advancing.

Both sides look to the bench for the first time tonight.

A loose ball comes to Romo near the top of the Ecuador box. He swivels quickly and fires a great first-time shot on goal, but it's straight to Dominguez.
61' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
Venezuela are almost certainly headed towards a quarterfinal date with Canada, while Argentina will be taking on Ecuador unless Mexico can find a goal.
57' Jamaica 0-2 Venezuela
It's surely game over in Texas now as Venezuela double their advantage. Yangel Herrera is the provider, playing a nice pass that splits the Jamaica backline, but there is still a lot of work for Salomon Rondon to do. He shows good strength to hold off Ethan Pinnock, then prods the ball past the goalkeeper and into the net. Great finish.
59' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
On the corner following VAR's decision, Mexico head the ball on at the near post and Gimenez has a glorious chance to score at the back post but misses his header from point-blank range!
58' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
Replays show that Torres got a touch on the ball before making contact with Arteaga, prompting VAR to rule against awarding a penalty.
57' Mexico 0-0 Ecuador
Arteaga has gone down in the box under contact from Torres and Mexico are appealing for a penalty!
VAR is reviewing the play. This could be a decisive moment in this match.
49' Jamaica 0-1 Venezuela
Venezuela take the lead against Jamaica in Austin, tightening their grip on top spot in this group. Eduard Bello is the scorer, ghosting in at the far post to nod Jon Aramburu's cross into the net. Bello is turning into a real big-game player for La Vinotinto: he also scored in the World Cup qualifier against Brazil last October, and got the winner against Ecuador last week.
Ecuador have already clinched a berth in the knockout stage, so this goal mostly serves to guarantee that it's second place that Mexico and Ecuador are playing for.

Peter B.: Gonna be the usual. Slow, slow build up > lose ball > concede on the counter. Good old El Tri
Benjamin A.: This is one of the most physical games I have ever watched. Ref is letting a lot of contact go and I am loving it.
With both games 0-0 at halftime, nothing has changed from how the day started in Group B.
Venezuela are still set to secure first place in the group, while Ecuador are still in position to advance over Mexico.
One goal for Mexico is all it would take for them to move ahead of Ecuador though...
Halftime in Austin and it's still goalless between Jamaica and Venezuela. The closest we came to an opening goal was a few minutes ago, when Darwin Machis hit a looping cross-shot that forced Jahmali Waite into a smart stop.
Venezuela certainly look the more likely to score; Jamaica don't seem particularly up for this, with Michael Antonio in particular just out for a nice, slow Sunday walk in the Texas sun.
