On November 15 - the early hours of Friday 16 in Spain - we will experience a very special fight between a veteran like Mike Tyson, who returns to the ring after 19 years, and Jake Paul, who is slowly building a career in boxing, although his only pure opponent with a career in pugilism was Tommy Fury. In any case, the first thing to note is that this fight has been sanctioned as a professional, so a real duel is expected between the two contenders. The fight is already registered with BoxRec and will count towards both fighters' records. In other words, this is not an exhibition as Tyson's fight against Roy Jones was in 2020.

The fight is in the heavyweight category (Paul's first time) and is scheduled for eight rounds, although like any professional fight it could end before going the distance if there is a KO. Otherwise, the result will be determined by the judges through their scorecards.

The fight will be contested over two-minute rounds, instead of the usual three-minute rounds in men's boxing. That is, we will have an 8x2 instead of the classic 12x3 of any world title fight. According to Tyson, "I wanted the shorter rounds because I wanted more action. If we only have two minutes, we'll fight more".

The issue of gloves is another of the peculiarities of this fight. In the heavyweight division, 10-ounce gloves are normally used, but Paul and Tyson will use 14-ounce gloves on this occasion. The use of the 14-ounce - larger and capped - is more common for general training and sparring (also 16). The idea is to protect both fighters, but headgear will not be used, as when they train.
