Language and Literature Month 2024, Minister Abdul Mu'ti Invites ...

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Elementary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, opened the Exhibition of Language and Literature Month 2024 together with the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Satryo Brodjonegoro and the Minister of Culture Fadli Zon. Language and Literature Month is an annual agenda in commemoration of the birth of Indonesian Language history.
"One of the things we emphasize this year is how we build the sovereignty of the Indonesian Language," said Abdul to the media after opening the exhibition at the Ministry of Elementary and Secondary Education office in Jakarta on Monday, 28 October 2024.
On that occasion, Abdul also stressed the importance of preserving regional languages. "It is important to preserve it without reducing our enthusiasm to continue learning foreign languages as part of international communication," he said.
This exhibition is part of the series of activities for Language and Literature Month 2024. The activities in BBS 2024 consist of 12 events, namely the Ministry of Education and Culture Affairs Literature Award given to writers, the National-Level Language Figure Award, the Smart Indonesian Language Figure Award, the Appreciation of Independent Adaptive Indonesian Language Proficiency Test (UKBI), National-Level Poetic Musical Festival, Short Film Festival in Regional Languages, Indonesian Cultural Festival, Selection of National Language Ambassadors, Book Review Smart Competition, Storytelling Competition for Visually Impaired Individuals, Poet Message Monologue Competition, and Strengthening Indonesia which aims to introduce national programs from each language bureau or office.
The series of Language and Literature Month activities are conducted extensively in 31 provinces. The entire series of BBS 2024 activities will be concluded with a Grand Event held in Jakarta on Monday night, 28 October 2024. This event is held in conjunction with the Commemoration of Youth Pledge Day on 28 October 2024.
