Vizag lad Nitish comes good in IPL

Nitish Kumar Reddy
is eager to prove himself and the opportunity came to him twice within a week in the IPL. For those watching him since he was young, his performance so far in the IPL was not a surprise as he has been a run machine from his younger days.
In the BCCI all-India U-16 tournament, Nitish scored 441 against Nagaland in Mumbai in the December 2017-January 2018 season.
With four more 100s and two 50s, he amassed 1237 runs to top the run charts that season. The 441-run knock is still the highest by an Andhra batter in any age group, including the seniors. Nitish also bowls medium pace and he showed his skills with a five-for in the Ranji trophy last season.
The Visakhapatnam player had to wait for his chance to play in the IPL, though he was picked last season. He slammed a six in his eight-ball 14 as Sunrisers Hyderabad completed an easy six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in his first game this season. On Tuesday, he pulled the team out of woods and took them to 182 for nine with his 64 (37b, 4x4, 5x6). SRH later pulled off a two-run win and Nitish took a wicket (1/33).
A few Andhra players have done well in IPL in the past. Y Venugopala Rao played for several seasons and for a few franchises. KS Bharat, now with KKR, cracked an unbeaten 78 and with a last ball six helped RCB pip Delhi Capitals once.
