As reported by Chosun, a representative from Xanadu Entertainment, Park’s management agency, confirmed that the singer "suddenly left" on Thursday. Discussions regarding funeral arrangements are currently underway between the company and her family.

Xanadu Entertainment has also requested that the public refrain from speculation and rumor-spreading about Park’s passing to prevent further distress to her family. The investigation into the cause of her death is ongoing, according to the agency.

Fans across Asia have been voicing their shock and sadness on forums and fan pages.

"Such a pity, she’s young and only 30 years old," voiced a netizen.

"I’ve been listening to her music a lot these days, and now this," said another online community user.

Her passing also quickly became a trending topic on China’s prominent social media platform Weibo.

Park’s entry into the entertainment industry was marked by her participation in a talent show on Mnet, a South Korean broadcaster, where she was lauded for her singing talent. She was honored with the Best New Artist award at both the Mnet Asian Music Awards and Melon Music Awards in 2014.

At the start of the year, Park disclosed her intention to release a new album.
