It's the moment every millennial girlie has been waiting for. The return of The Princess Diaries. Otherwise known as the most iconic film of our childhoods, and the one that gave us Amelia Mignonette Grimaldi Thermopolis Renaldo, Princess of Genovia. (Tell me you didn't just read that in your head like it's said in the movie. Same.)

After the long-awaited news that the third instalment is officially in the works, Anne Hathaway, aka Princess Mia, took to Instagram to react to the announcement. And honestly, it might be the most *iconic* thing we've seen this year.

To mark the moment, the 41-year-old shared a video of the Variety article confirming the film which then cut to the actor counting to three between two classic clips from the film.

The first was Anne's character Mia delivering what could be her most memorable line - the rhetorical, "Shut Up!" which took place after first learning she was a Princess. The second was Julie Andrew's character, The Queen of Genovia (and Mia's grandmother) also repeating the line, albeit in a slightly more regal manner. Finally, it ended with Anne flipping the camera back to selfie mode and also reciting the two words, accompanied by a sweet giggle that could only be attributed to her excitement.

And to make things even more iconic, Anne captioned the video: "Miracles happen. Back to Genovia," ending it with: "The fairy tale continues."

Buena Vita Pictures

According to the Variety piece, The Princess Diaries 3 is currently in development with Disney and will be directed by Adele Lim (Joy Ride, Crazy Rich Asians, Raya and the Last Dragon).

Sharing her directorial news in a statement, Lim gushed: "As a diehard fan of the original Princess Diaries, I'm beyond excited to be a part of bringing the third iteration of this beloved franchise to life. We look forward to celebrating its core tenants of female power, joy and mentorship with audiences worldwide."

Erm, life = made.
