Kingsley Re-Engineered KSR is the ultimate Range Rover Classic ...

The throbbing mass under the KSR's snout produces 270PS (199kW) and 420Nm (310lb ft) from 3,500rpm. That power is sent through a four-speed automatic gearbox and is good for 0-62mph in 9.8 seconds, with a 120mph-plus top speed. Kingsley also offers a Chevrolet LS3 or LT1 engine mated to a six-speed manual if the 4.6 doesn't satisfy your power lust. The KSR is the first to feature automatically adjustable Kingsley-optimised TracTive adaptive suspension.

If you think that sounds enticing, wait until you see the interior. 

Like a high-end sound system, Kingsley's dashboard, centre console and instruments combine a look of precision engineering with wood veneers and metal analogue controls, a soothing space that contrasts the sensory assault of an infotainment-screen brimmed modern cabin. 

You still get infotainment, and it has Apple CarPlay with USB and USB-C charging ports. Plus, there's a smaller screen slotted between the car's analogue dials.

Kingsley's work goes as far as fully modernising the air-conditioning system, redesigning the air vents and lengthening the windscreen de-mist for the performance of a modern system. Even the cup holders are new.

Each KSR is hand-built just a stone's throw away from the original Solihull factory, using a pre-1993, late two-door or four-door chassis as a base. 

From there, you can specify your car exactly how you want it, choosing from one of Kingsley's Heritage or special-order colours. 

You get free reign inside, too, but it would be hard to refuse the Chestnut leather, ancient Black Watch tartan accents, Boxweave carpets and Brewster Green exterior of the car you see here. 

Sadly, and as you’ve probably feared, this doesn't come cheap; prices for the Kingsley KSR start from £220,000 – plus VAT.
