VAGRANTS Welcomes Sara Robin For Representation
US production company VAGRANTS has welcomed director Sara Robin to its roster for commercial representation.
Sara infuses her indie spirit into each project, often combining fiction and documentary approaches. As a commercial director and producer, her films focus on imagining more humane futures, often through the lens of a female protagonist.
During her career, Sara has worked extensively in the sports and fashion space for clients including Jordan, Nike, and U.S. Ski & Snowboard. More recently, she has directed and shot documentary-style campaigns for Lego and Dunkin’ Donuts, and was recognised with a bronze Hatch award in 2023 for her branded documentary ‘Rebuilding Families’.
In her independent work, Sara has created award-winning shorts and screenplays. Her coming-of-age short film ‘Cranberry Nights’ was screened across the global festival circuit, including the Academy-qualifying HollyShorts and SCAD Savannah, and received awards for best directing and best film. Her feature adaptation ‘Here To Stay’ was also a finalist in an array of prestigious contests, and was awarded the New England Film Fellowship at the 2021 Stowe Narrative Lab. This summer, in partnership with the Seattle Film Summit and HollyShorts, Sara is also set to direct sci-fi short, ‘Switch’, for which she won best screenplay at HollyShorts 2023.
Sara is currently directing a feature documentary set for release early next year, exploring how we can reclaim control over our attention in the age of addictive technology with the help of experts in the field. She can also be heard on an upcoming February episode of ‘Scrolling 2 Death’, a podcast discussing social media harms and strategies for safeguarding our children.
Dustin Devlin, co-founder and director at VAGRANTS, comments, “We're so happy to welcome Sara Robin to the roster as she is the embodiment of the Vagrants ethos. She's a versatile director that leads with her curiosity, but measured in her approach to visual storytelling. Her distinctive docu-style is human without feeling forced. It's clear through her work that she develops a personal connection with the subject, as well as the brand.”
Sara Robin, director at VAGRANTS, adds, “I love bringing my multi-faceted experience as a director, writer, producer and DP to my work, and leaning into my indie sensibilities to bring commercial projects to life. As a collective of deeply committed filmmakers, VAGRANTS really understands how to harness the power of a multi-talented team to bring the creative vision of a project to the next level! I’m excited to create together, and honoured to join the VAGRANTS family!”
