took to X to criticise Stalin, saying it was DMK which filed the case against Senthil Balaji and now the same party was celebrating him as a martyr.

"A person who was a traitor while he was in the opposition party became a martyr when he joined his party," Tamilisai said.The former governor criticised Stalin for his comments that "even during the National Emergency, the jail term was not so long", saying it was the Congress govt which imposed Emergency and now the DMK is in office in alliance with the same party.NTK chief Seeman too echoed similar sentiments, saying DMK was celebrating Senthil Balaji as a martyr and wondered "when the words corruption and forgery were added to the definition of a martyr".

BJP national women's wing president Vanathi Srinivasan said Senthil Balaji should not be made a minister again. She urged the enforcement directorate to keep a constant watch on Senthil Balaji as he was only granted bail and has not been acquitted of charges.
