SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WBRC) - Officials in Shelby County are preparing for a safety checkpoint this weekend, Sunday, June 30.

The checkpoint will be conducted from 8 p.m. until midnight at the intersection of Highway 25 and Kline Road (Highway 76 near Harpersville).

The sheriff’s office says the checkpoint aims to increase law enforcement presence and to deter risky driving behaviors to keep the roads safe for everyone.

Authorities say drivers that approach the checkpoint can expect a brief stop and need to be prepared to show their driver’s license and proof of insurance.
