LIVE: Follow right here for live updates as Antonio Conte's Tottenham team travel to St Mary's Stadium to take on Southampton in the Premier League.

Hello and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham's Premier League clash against Southampton.

After bouncing back from a poor run of results last weekend to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, Antonio Conte and his Spurs team will be looking to make it back-to-back wins in their quest for a top-four finish.

As Manchester United, who currently sit two points above the Lilywhites, are in FA Cup action this weekend, Spurs have the opportunity to move into third place going into the first international break of 2023.

Southampton, on the other hand, need the points for an entirely different reason as they are in a serious battle to keep their place in the Premier League as they currently sit bottom and are two points adrift of safety.

Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest are covering the match with all the build-up and the action as it happens on the pitch and reaction from the supporters and media.

The second half is underway at St Mary's.

Here are Alasdair's thoughts on that first half

The first half had been all about the injuries, with both sides losing two players apiece.

Spurs lost Richarlison within four minutes and then Ben Davies after the half-hour mark while the Saints had Armel Bella-Kotchap and Jan Bednarek forced off.

It was a fragmented half because of the changes and treatment required and there was rarely any flow to it.

Tottenham had the better chances and Dejan Kulusevski, who was thrown in just four minutes into the contest for Richarlison, set up a couple of chances for others and one for himself.

However, it was left to Pedro Porro, after two wild left-footed shots over the bar, to smash home with his right foot.

It came from a lovely incisive ball from Son - his 50th Premier League assist - and the Spaniard took a touch and smashed it in off the crossbar, his first goal for Tottenham.

The second half will be all about who manages their changes better and Saints had a strong spell towards the end of the half. However, if Spurs can keep on creating chances you would back them to add to their lead and that would take them into third place in the Premier League table.

Another Spurs sub

Now Ben Davies down needing treatment and Ivan Perisic coming on. Crazy first half for injuries. Two for either side.

15:34Rob Guest

Another Saints sub

The hosts are forced into another change as Bednarek is replaced by Maitland-Niles.

The Southampton man had been struggling and was constantly holding his side before going to ground for a second time.

Kulusevski run

Kulusevski has been bright since coming on. After creating a few chances he has one of his own after jinking past Salisu down the right but his low shot is deflected behind.

15:25Alasdair Gold

Porro chance

Porro and Davies ended up switching sides after defending a corner and Conte was furiously telling them to switch back after a good few minutes, although it had been difficult to do so. They do and Porro responds by firing over another effort.

Dier effort
