Premier League leaders Arsenal this week turn attentions back towards the Europa League.

While its unclear as to how seriously Mikel Arteta will actually take the competition as the Gunners look to close in on a long-awaited fourteenth domestic League title, momentum feels key.

With Manchester City and all of their experience chasing, it’s important to keep riding the crest of a wave as much as possible.

Arteta has hinted that some of his squad players will get a run-out in the Portuguese capital. Still, such is the quality in the Gunners’ ranks, that is hardly much reason for Sporting to celebrate.

The major absence for Sporting is midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who sits out through suspension.

Former Gunner Hector Bellerin, however, will likely play against his old club in at least some capacity.

Arteta’s side have welcomed Gabriel Jesus back into training as the Brazilian eyes a return to action ahead of the Premier League title run-in.

Still, there was some worrying news to emerge out of Wednesday’s training session. Leandro Trossard, Kieran Tierney and Eddie Nketiah were all absent and are not expected to feature.

While its unlikely to be a full strength Arsenal, its simply too hard to see them losing a game right now, particularly when playing with the kind of belief that saw beat Bournemouth late on.
