Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United will reportedly play a friendly at the Melbourne Cricket Ground just three days after the Premier League season concludes.
According to the Times, the fixture will be played on Wednesday May 22 at the 100,000-capacity stadium, after Spurs and Newcastle end their respective seasons against Sheffield United and Brentford.

The game will mark somewhat of a homecoming for Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou, who coached A-League Men side Melbourne Victory in 2012-13 and won titles for South Melbourne as both manager and player in the 1990s.
The report claims that Chelsea were targeted as Spurs' original opponent for the friendly, but a Sunday's 4-2 victory over Leicester City means the Blues remain in the FA Cup and potentially unavailable for the trip to Australia if they make the final at Wembley on Saturday May 25.
Spurs and Newcastle both remain in the race for European qualification next season, with Postecoglou's side eyeing a Champions League berth, while Eddie Howe's Newcastle remain in the hunt for a Europa League spot.
