Exclusive: Jack Grealish wants ruthless streak after Manchester City ...

Jack Grealish admits he needs to start chipping in with more goals after Manchester City’s 3-0 win over BSC Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.

The routine win at the Etihad secured qualification for the Champions League last 16, and despite providing an assist for Phil Foden’s second, he stressed the need to get on the scoresheet more often himself.

The England international has yet to find the net so far this season.

“I need to start scoring more goals,” said Grealish to TNT Sports.

“I know what I bring to the team aside from goals and assists, but every attacking player wants to score more. We won 3-0, but I think on another day it could have been five or six.”

Grealish also spoke in more detail about his assist for Foden and Pep Guardiola stressing the need to take a more direct approach against the Young Boys defence.

“As they were playing with a five, the manager asked us to hit the ball in that area straight away instead of passing it to each player because it obviously took longer.

“I wanted to get it straight out to Phil [Foden], let him go at the defender one-v-one and that's what he did.”

The midfielder highlighted the importance of securing last-16 qualification with two games to spare ahead of a hectic fixture schedule. That's what we wanted to do [qualify with two games to spare].

“Every year we have so many games as a team. Obviously, we're not in the Carabao Cup now, but most of the time we're always in most of the competitions.

“So, to qualify with two games to spare is something that we wanted to do and that was our aim."

He also heaped praise on Guardiola and the team spirit within the City camp, both on and off the pitch.

“He gives us so much; in my opinion, he's the best manager in the world and he's shown that over the years.

“You can have the best manager in the world, but you also need the team to produce on the pitch. We have a brilliant team on and off the pitch that's so close and we love being with each other and playing with each other every day. That shows on the pitch.”
