2025 UEFA Women's Nations League draw: All you need to know
Cymru will discover their opponents for the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League when the draw takes place in Nyon, Switzerland at 12pm GMT on Thursday 7 November.
Cymru finished bottom of Group A3 and were subsequently relegated to League B in the last edition of the competition, but Rhian Wilkinson’s side were promoted back to League A after finishing top of their 2025 UEFA Women’s EURO qualifying group in July.
How will the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League draw work?
The teams in each league are seeded according to their performances in the 2025 UEFA Women’s EURO qualifiers.
Cymru have been placed in Pot 4 in League A with Portugal, Scotland and Switzerland, ensuring they will not play against any of these three teams. Cymru’s opponents will therefore be drawn from Pots 1, 2 and 3.
One team from each pot will form each group within League A.
The pots will be drawn one at a time, ensuring each team from Pot 1 is drawn into four separate groups. Pot 2, Pot 3 and Pot 4 will then be drawn.
The draw starts with League C, followed by League B and League A.

What is the format of the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League in League A?
Teams in each group will play each other twice (home and away).
The top two teams in each group remain in League A for the European Qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The four third-placed teams play off over two legs against against the second-placed teams in each group of League B. The winner of each match play in League A for the European Qualifiers phase; the defeated teams will play in League B.
The fourth-placed teams are relegated to League B.
When does the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League take place?
The league phase of the Nations League will take place between February and June 2025.
Matchdays 1-2: 19-26 February 2025
Matchdays 3-4: 2-8 April 2025
Matchdays 5-6: 28 May-3 June 2025
The finals and promotion/relegation matches will take place between October and December 2025.
1st and 2nd legs: 22-28 October 2025
How do the 2025 UEFA Women’s Nations League finals work?
They will be played as single-leg games, with two semi-finals, a third-place play-off and a final. A draw will determine the semi-final ties and the home team in each of the matches.
The final winners are declared the UEFA Nations League winners.
