ENDICOTT, N.Y. (WETM) – It’s the moment of the day from the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open Pro-Am.

Horseheads’ Logan Knowles, the first-ever golfer with a disability to play in the Pro-Am in Endicott, was teamed with one of the all-time greats in Vijay Singh. Knowles was born with cerebral palsy and continues to show the world that his disability will not define him. In fact, it betters his approach to all things including golf.

Knowles and Singh were paired in a group of four and started play at 1:30 PM Thursday on the second tee. Both exchanged several encouraging words and connected on some memorable moments at En-Joie Golf Club. Knowles hit for birdie on hole 18. Knowles and Singh even exchanged a special fist bump for Logan’s strong play on the greens.

Singh is 14th all-time in PGA Tour wins with 34. Vijay has also won three majors in his career on the PGA Tour starting with the PGA Championship (1998), The Masters (2000) and The U.S. Open in 2004.

Legendary golfer John Daly, when talking about Logan, said quote: “We love him, man.” Below, some photos from the Pro-Am on Thursday. Round one of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open begins Friday at 9:15 AM and concludes Sunday with the final round.
