PSG considering sending Xavi Simons on season loan spell

Xavi Simons has attracted substantial interest from Manchester United as Paris Saint-Germain are considering sending him on a loan spell after re-signing him from PSV.

The 20-year-old dynamic midfielder from the Netherlands, who previously played for PSV for one season, is about to rejoin PSG.

After receiving Simons’ verbal OK, the Ligue 1 champions will utilise the buy-back mechanism in his contract with PSV to re-sign him.

According to L’Equipe, Simons might be sent on a one-year loan by PSG as soon as he officially signs, with RB Leipzig presently the favourite to recruit him.

However, recent rumours from France indicate that Manchester United would fight with the German club to sign the kid to a loan agreement this summer.

Erik ten Hag is committed to adding fresh players to the United roster this year. They have already acquired Chelsea goalkeeper Mason Mount, and they are close to agreeing to terms with Inter goalkeeper Andre Onana.

Although the midfielder scored 19 goals and supplied nine assists in the Eredivisie last season, he now views Simons as an impressive member of his team.

Given the Red Devils’ constrained spending throughout this window, a Simons loan deal appears feasible for the team. The player must now choose his preferred location for the 2023–24 season.
